On Friday March 27,Mr. Davis prepares the soft serves for his physics students.

“We’re gonna make ice cream in a really cool way, and then we’re going to eat it, it will taste like Science” said Taylor Shepherd ‘15 expressing his expectations for the event taking place in Mr. Davis’ physics class on March 27th.

They will get two birds with one stone with ice cream and an understanding of physical concepts. The ice cream machine will make the ice cream for the class while Mr. Davis will explain the connection to Latent Heat of Fusion, a concept currently under study by the students. “It’s a fun way to connect food to physics. Science happens all the time around us” said Mr. Davis. This lab serves as a cool down after a quiz on heat dynamics.

Food and Science is somewhat of a recurring event. “We’ve made liquid nitrogen ice cream before in AP Chemistry. It’d be cool to do it again” said Chris Serica ‘15
