The Arlington High School girls basketball team had a challenging but growthful season with the play of basketball and relationships, building the program more and more.
The team was 6-6 in league and was overall 11-10. The defense the team portrayed throughout the season was impressive and stood out compared to the other teams. People did express the team lacked offense especially in the scoring aspect.
“Defensively, it was a lot better than last year. We were more sound as a team and we worked well together. Offensively, we needed to be better at being able to drive and kick and get more open looks,” Kailee Anderson (‘27) said.
A key factor the coaches claim to look at is the attitude that the players present on and off the court. Expressing being an okay player is someone focused on the stats and score of the game. But if effort and attitude is shown then that makes someone a great player.
Green spoke about what she would tell underclassmen and incoming players to focus on the most when playing Arlington High School girls basketball. “Being coach-able, and always have confidence out on the court, and show the coaches what you can do,” Addie Green (‘26) said.
A lot of the players see ways of doing better in many different situations such as driving to the hoop and being more powerful all together. Having grit and strength is a general goal of the team. The question is will they apply it to their seasons to come.
“Next year I want to go farther in districts and just be stronger as a team,” Kenna Langford (‘28) said. The team definitely has potential and goals for the upcoming season and has the mentality to progress next year.
“We definitely can improve next season,” Anderson said.
