Freshman Chase Welton runs the ball against Stanwood during the 2nd quarter of the game on October 15.

On Wednesday October 15th the freshman football team came out ready to play against the Stanwood Spartans in their own Stilly Cup. Things started off strong when Grant Falk (#40) went in for the first touchdown of the game. That plus a two point conversion left the score 8-0 Eagles at the end of the first quarter. At the end of the first quarter Riley Smith, (#21), had a great interception.

Then as the second quarter began, Falk came in with another touchdown. This time the two point conversion was no good, leaving the score 14-0 Eagles. Smith came in soon after for another touchdown. Once again the two point conversion was no good leaving the score 20-0.

Stanwood scored next in the second quarter with no extra point. Score: 20-6 Eagles. During the third quarter Campbell Hudson (#3) scored. No extra point left the score at 26-6. At this point Smith stopped a rush and took down Stanwood at the 31 yard line to keep them from scoring.

During the fourth quarter Stanwood scored and got a two point conversion in a last stitch effort to bring down the Eagles, but it was a failed attempt.

The final score: 26-14 Eagles.
