Varsity Boys’ Tennis Dominates In Match Against MP

The boys’ tennis team competed against Marysville Pilchuck under the scorching sun on September 28 and won 7-0.

Two of the four senior boys, Connor Fochesato and Johnathan Leon-Guerrero won their matches in two intense sets.

“My goal is to end the season with a record 8-6, so far I have 4-6,” Fochesato said (‘18).

Dominic Palmisano (’18) and Will Eckley (’18) entered a third set to win their matches. Palmisano’s third set was a ten point tie break, in which the first player to achieve ten points wins the set (6-4, 2-6, 10-3).

Coach Mendro encouraged him from the sidelines through the three sets.

After the winning point, he was ecstatic and thanked the crowd of parents and peers for supporting and watching him.

Eckley won his third match by being the first to score (7-5, 2-6, 1-0).

The boys’ doubles, Taras McCurdie (‘20) and Vincent Loftis (‘21), Ben Spores (‘19) and Ben Nichols (‘21), Dean Shepherd (‘18) and Burch Walker (‘18), and Cody Perdue (‘19) and Tomas Ramirez (‘19) won all of their matches.

They finished off the match with a group huddle and shouting “Tomahawks”.

The Arlington Varsity Boys’ next home match is on Monday, October 2, and is free to attend.
