Some of the Eagle cross country runners stay dry and warm under their tent at City Beach Park in Oak Harbor on October 8.

On October 8th, Arlington’s cross country runners took on Edmonds-Woodway, Glacier Peak, and Oak Harbor in their last league meet of the season at City Beach Park over in Oak Harbor.

The Eagles ran a three mile course, shorter than their normal 5,000 meter races (about 3.1 miles), in the cool weather next to the harbor.  They reserved some of their energy for Saturday’s Hole-in-the-Wall Invitational, and treated the race as a workout.

Arlington’s JV Boys were led by sophomore Dawson Andrews. Andrews would place 6th among his competitors, even though many of his opponents were racing full on.

Junior Sidney Trinidad led the girls with an 18th place finish. In the varsity boys race, senior Nate Beamer led the Eagles’ charge, taking first place.

No official results were given, but Arlington’s cross country athletes still made their last league meet a good one, and competed well against their opponents.

Following the race, the coaches treated the hard working Eagles to some steaming pizza, which runners thoroughly enjoyed after a difficult workout.
