Blocks Not Enough to Hold the Tomahawks
On Friday, October 17, the varsity football team took on the Marysville Pilchuck Tomahawks. Within the first quarter, Marysville was up 0-14. Then the Eagles came in with junior #84 Chase Marx scoring the first touchdown for the team. With only a minute left in the first quarter, Marysville Pilchuck scores again, bringing the score to 7-20.
Not long after, Marysville Pilchuck brings the score to 7-27. With nine minutes left in the second quarter, Marysville Pilchuck scores, however, the extra point is blocked by the Eagles, leaving the score at 7-33. Near the end of the second quarter, the Tomahawks score again, bringing the score to 7-41 with a two point conversion. Just before half time, senior #44 Cameron Scrimgeour scores for the Eagles and with the extra point, brings the score to 14-41.
As soon as the second half began, MP scored again totaling the score to 14-48. Then, with only two minutes left in the third quarter, MP scores and the Eagles block the extra point, putting the score at 14-54. Shortly after, Arlington sophomore #30 Devon Nutter then runs the ball in for a touchdown. The score then stood at 21-54.
In the fourth quarter, Nutter again scored for the Eagles, bringing the final score of the game to 27-54, with the Tomahawks taking home the victory.
