Respect Team members cut out a silhouette of an elephant to use as a decoration at Unified Prom.

Unified Prom brings students and teachers from Arlington and Marysville-Pilchuck, Life Skills, Special Education, and general education classes together for dancing, laughter, and an all around good time. This year the theme is “Under the Big Top”. It will feature silhouettes of playful elephants and monkeys, along with, fun photo opportunities, a chance to get a silhouette of your face done by the Arlington Art Club, and even cotton candy and concessions.

The dance is on April 16, 2015 during school, 5th and 6th periods, approximately 12:30-2:30. Anyone and everyone is invited to help out just see Ms. Strickland in room C112. Wednesday after school is when people are needed to help set up, as well as Thursday morning, and a clean up crew after school on Thursday. Helping out is how one gains entrance to the dance, so come out and work hard to play hard!

For Shanelle Clark ‘17 Unified Prom is one of her favorite events Respect Team puts on because she gets to “see everyone be so happy, full of enjoyment, and people get to experience something new.” Payton Knudson ‘17, another Respect Team member, says her dream for the world would be for “everyone to know there’s someone there for them” and Unified Prom is a great way to show students in Life Skills and Special Education programs just that. They are loved and worthy of an awesome party and so much more.
