Junior Tyler Morton drives down court to set up for the game winning shot against Ferndale.

Arlington- This last Friday the Arlington Eagles faced off against the Ferndale Golden Eagles. To say this game was exciting is a huge understatement. The game started out close in the first quarter 18-15 and then we took off going into the half with a 37-26 lead. Being led by Donovan Sellgren with 17 points in the first half. Once the 2nd half began Ferndale moved to shut down Sellgren by keeping him to only 4 points. During the 3rd Quarter Ferndale made its move to get back in the game by scoring 20 points and closing the gap to 48-46. In the Fourth Quarter both teams kept it tight having the game tied by end of the 4th. By the middle of overtime both Arlington and Ferndale had 2 players fouled out. After a missed final seconds 3 pointer by Senior Connor Bovard the game went into double overtime. And yet again the second overtime was down to the wire. Arlington got the ball with 12 seconds left on the clock. It was in bounded to Junior Point Guard Tyler Morton who let the clock run down to roughly 6 seconds. He drives right and pulls up for the layup. Bounces from backboard to rim. And then it falls in. The crowd rushed the court but the refs, with help from Tom Roys they drove the fans back to the stands. The refs put 1.5 seconds back on the clock. Ferndale in bounds the ball to a player at half court and he throws it up with a prayer. The ball hits the bottom of the net and the stands gasp for a second. But it was short and only hit the net. And the Eagles won to move on in the playoffs.

Leading scorer: Donovan Sellgren- 21
