Halloween costumes are a popular subject when it is October, and lots of students do different types of costume, but what category is the most popular?

With Halloween just around the corner, students tend to be excited about the spooky holiday. Students dress up as many different things, movie stars, scary clowns, and the list goes on. But what could be the most popular halloween costume this year?

When Violet Smith (’28) was asked what she thought the most popular Halloween costume category this year was, she answered “Probably animal.”

Smith could be right, animals as a Halloween costume have increased over some time. Lots of students get creative on the eerie night of October 31. Some costumes could be creepy animals, like bugs or a hunter animal, or some costumes are just cute and cuddly. 

Junior Analeigha Juarez agreed with Smith’s choice. “Probably animals,” Juarez said. “Because, you know, I just feel like a lot of people on social media are posting their Halloween costumes, it’s mostly animals.”

Halloween costumes don’t have to be expensive and spendy, you could do a simple costume and still make it fashionable. If animals are a popular category this year, it seems it could be easy to fashionize your costume. You could go to a store that specializes in lower prices and make your own unique costumes.

On what would be the most popular costume this year, “I would assume cheetah or deer, because those have been the most popular… Or not cheetah, sorry, leopard” Juarez said.
