With a growing student body, and no feasible room for parking, students eagerly await a solution from the district that provides a sanctuary for their vehicle and their sanity. Because overflow is a present problem, many students have resolved to parking in the Crown Ridge neighborhood, which has caused some disturbance to the residents there. Current solutions, such as riding buses or carpooling have been suggested, although the preference of many students remain otherwise.

Having roughly 430 student parking spots and many more able-bodied drivers, the parking problem has seemed to significantly increase. Following social guidelines, the school has prioritized the senior class acquiring their parking passes first, and then priority makes its way down the rest of the ladder. On occasion, vehicles make it to the parking lot without a pass, which results in a $5 fine, that progresses to a $10 fine on the second offense, and finally to a revocation of privileges on the third.

Because our parking lot is on a first come first serve basis, Chelsea Wyatt, a senior here at Arlington prioritizes arriving early to ensure a considerable spot to park during the day. With a solid parking spot close to the school, leaving at the end of the day becomes less stressful as a result of leaving merely seconds before the chaos of the afternoon parking lot.
