After a promising start, the Arlington junior varsity football team lost their October 12th home match, 22-19.

Arlington’s offense exploded early for 19 points. Quickness and agility was shown throughout the second half by Arlington’s quarterback, #11 Campbell Hudson (’18). Likewise, an aggressive running game was displayed by several members of Arlington’s offense. Arlington’s defense was also on display, as they allowed 7 points through three quarters.

There was a momentary halt in the game when #7 Tucker Bovard (’18) was threatened by the referees with the possibility of receiving anĀ unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Following the incident, Bovard was taken off the field for a time.

As the game resumed, it would only go downhill from there. Ultimately, Arlington’s early offense couldn’t starve off Stanwood’s late attack. With just nine minutes left in the game, and Arlington up by a score of 19-7, Stanwood mounted a 15 point scoring montage that Arlington’s defense was simply unable to keep at bay. The earlier defensive power shown by the Eagles crumbled; leaving Arlington with nothing but a loss.

Arlington looks to bounce back inĀ their next game on October 19th, versus Marysville-Pilchuck.
