Baker Injured in Victory Over Mountlake Terrace

Senior forward Danielle Baker was injured Thursday night, as the Arlington girls soccer team claimed a 3-0 victory over the Mountlake Terrace Hawks.

Baker said that her back was “bugging” her going into the game, but she tried to work through it. About ten minutes into the game, she reported that her “legs went numb” and she “couldn’t feel them.” She was pulled out of the game and checked by the trainer, Mike Carbon.

By 9 a.m. Friday morning, Baker said that she was feeling  much better, and should be able to play in Monday’s game against Marysville-Pilchuck.

After Baker’s departure, the Eagles rallied on the field. The first goal was made by Courtney “CJ” Arnold (’17) within the first 20 minutes of the game. Olivia Larson (’16) followed with another goal, ten minutes before halftime. Tahlia Miears (’17) also scored off of a corner kick.

Larson continued her dominance throughout to complete a standout game. After scoring her first goal, the senior midfielder would follow with another; completing the night scoring 2 out of the 3 goals. Larson’s second goal would occur 6 minutes before the end of the game.

“We played really well last night,” said head coach Nathan Davis. “Defense played great.”

With the end of the regular season rapidly approaching, Arlington is in good shape. The Eagles are third in the Wesco 3A division; 8-2 within the league, and 11-3 overall. And with districts right around the corner, (which, are being held here at Arlington), the Eagles are well positioned to come out victorious.

The Eagles will play next week, Monday, October 26th at Marysville-Pilchuck. They will then conclude the regular season on the 28th, with a game at home against Lynwood.
