Up and Coming Artists

Arlington High School is very fortunate to have the arts programs we do. Art allows students to uniquely express themselves, whether it be painting, sculpting, acting, or more.

Mrs. Johnson’s art class is working on the homecoming parade. The art class is also helping out on JROTC’s haunted house this October. Although Johnson doesn’t know the exact date(s) the haunted house will be displayed, she anticipates it’s arrival. For everyone interested in Art Club this year, Mrs.Johnson will be the adviser of the club this year. “I’m hoping to get new students to join art club,” said Mrs. Johnson.

Also, drama has their upcoming fall play; Moon Over Buffalo! Moon over Buffalo is a comedy about a group of actors and couple of non actors. The group of actors, turn out to be a family whose company is starting to fall apart. The play is focused the crazy relationships and all the happens back stage, in their green room.

“I’m most excited for  watching the show come together and seeing the different opinions and ideas the other cast members brings to the characters,” said Grace Moberly(‘19).

Opening night is November 3 at 7 pm. The other show dates and times are November 4, 5, 11, and 12 all at 7 pm as well. Also there will be a Matinee at 2 pm on Friday Nov. 11, for those who cannot attend the later show times.

“I love the show a lot and I encourage everyone to come see because it’s super funny and the cast and crew are working really hard to put it on,” said Hannah Jensen(‘17),  who plays the lead role of Charlotte Hay.

Tickets can be purchased through the online website, Brynes Performing Arts Center(brynespreformingarts.org). Tickets are also sold at the door, but because tickets are limited it’s recommended to purchase online.

So keep an eye out for Art’s upcoming events and programs!
