Play-offs or Not??

The soccer team at the Lynnwood soccer fields for their game against Mountlake Terrace. The outcome of the game determined our post season play.

The final conference results for the Eagles varsity soccer team was 6 wins, 6 losses, and 3 ties. There were two things that needed to happen last night for the Eagles to advance to playoffs. First, beat Mountlake Terrace HS. And secondly, Everett HS had to lose to Edmonds HS. It was a very intense game at Lynnwood High School against Mountlake Terrace. The JV team lost 2-1. They gave it their all and were pleased with how they performed. This last varsity game was exciting and intense. The final score was 1-0. With AHS senior Giovanni Castillo scoring the first and only goal of the night. 

 

“I knew it put us in a spot where we could make the playoffs and I’m just so happy and relieved that I got to make a game-winning goal for playoffs” – Giovanni Castillo Garcia, Center Attacking Mid.

 

With Edmonds HS Scores of 13 wins 0 losses and 2 ties, the boys were almost 100% sure they would win that game. Edmonds High School was trailing Everett by one point with 12 minutes remaining, but they were able to tie the game and defeat them 4-3 in overtime.    

 

Edmond Woodway’s Midfield player, Edgar Caberra said  “I think it was a pretty tough game. Both teams played well but we’re happy to come out with the win” 

“We got the job done,” Anthony Cesar, Senior Defender,  added. 

The team was very upset with how they played, but took a win that placed them in districts. Excited to take on districts and excited to play next year and bring it there all.
