Lady Eagles overwhelm Marysville-Pilchuck
Girls Basketball v. Marysville-Pilchuck
Last Friday, our Lady Eagles overwhelmed the Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks with a landslide victory of 79-20.
Jess Ludwig ’15 was the first to score, followed by Jayla Russ ’16 and Payton Brown ’18 who both scored 3-pointers. Emma Jonasek ’16 and Serefina Balderas ’16 were just too quick for some of the Tomahawk girls; both saved the ball from going out-of-bounds as well as recovered rebounding balls. By the end of the first quarter, it was almost a complete shut-out with 30-2.
During the second quarter, Sevi Bielser ’16 was impressing the entire court with her 3-point shooting game. Balderas ’16 continued to be relentless on the Tomahawk girls, stealing the basketball several times resulting in a basket. Bielser ’16 continued her 3-point shooting game into the 3rd quarter along with Payten Brown ’18 who scored a 3-point goal as well.
By the end of the fourth quarter, the Lady Eagles won 79-20–almost a four to one score ratio. It was a game that surely made up for the disappointing defeat against Edmonds-Woodway. Let’s hope our Lady Eagles can continue their hard work and come out victorious for next week’s game.
