As we reach this point in the second semester, it’s time for class registration for the new year to start. It’s the time for students to weigh their options on what classes they’re going to pick that shape their academic career.

When picking your classes it’s best to think of what you’re going to need for your future. Ms. Bennett, Arlington High School counselor, said, “Other than required academic core classes, students should select options that align with their intended career or academic goals after high school.”

Some students also do Sno-Isle Skill Center or Running Start. Ms. Knutson, Arlington High School counseling secretary, said, “If a student is looking at possibly doing Running Start or Sno-Isle Skill Center, they will still want to register for a full schedule.”

Requesting your classes for next year is very important. If you don’t request any classes, your counselor will just put what they feel is best, and you will have no voice. The course request window will be open Friday, February 16 until Friday, March 29.

The last important thing you need to think about for your request is alternative classes. When putting your first option classes, you should put a back up as well because the counselors won’t always be able to put you into your first choice.
