Global Warming: What Can You Do?
It can be easy to feel like global climate change is too big of an issue for just one person to make any difference about it. In all reality, there are many things that we can all do to help combat climate change. Here are just a few.
- Turn off lights that aren’t being used.
- Ride a bike, carpool, or ride a bus to school and other places.
- Turn off water faucets that aren’t being used.
- Recycle whenever possible.
- Try to use reusable containers and bags for lunches instead of plastic bags.
- Buy fruits, vegetables, meat, and dairy products that are grown and raised locally .
- Buy less brand new things, purchase things from thrift stores instead.
- Buy better light bulbs that use less energy and last much longer.
- Keep electronics that aren’t being used unplugged so they can’t drain energy while they sit unused
- Start a compost bin in your backyard where you and your family can put old leftovers or any other food that went bad. You can use this compost to fertilize a garden, flower beds, and/or a lawn.
