Do you ever feel like your current classes are too easy for you? Does any of the material seem boring to you? Do you ever get distracted wishing they would move on to harder material? Then AP (Advanced placement) classes are for you.

AP classes are tougher, more strict college based classes that present harder material; higher tier topics, and stricter due dates. Material can vary depending on the class, and can be similar or vastly different from your regular classes.

Now you might be thinking, “well this just seems complicated and frustrating, what benefits could I possibly get from this.” Well, I’m here to tell you there are plenty my friend. If you can make it through all of the vigorous work and due dates, you’ll be able to leave with some college credits. These guys will help you get a headstart on your college career, as well as enable you to take higher classes. This will all benefit you in finding future careers as well.

Do we have any at our school? Of course we do. There are plenty of options to choose from. Ever wanted to read a higher level book or learn more complex vocabulary? Then you should try AP Language or AP Literature. Maxed out on all of your math credits but are still craving for more? Then you should definitely check out AP calculus if you think you can crunch the numbers. Think regular history classes are to vague? Then you should look into AP European or AP Government.

Now hear me out, I understand it may sound too hard for most people, but trust me, the benefits definitely outweigh the difficulties. If it helps, try not going in overly confident. And if it doesn’t work out in the end, that’s totally fine. Extra work is not for everyone. It’s perfectly alright if you take the basic path through high school. But, if you do consider it, strive to persevere through it. If you do, you will ensure a much better future for yourself.
