Senior Night Hits Seniors Hard

Only in November we already have five sports that are done with the season and have had their senior nights done and over with. “It was a lot of fun even though we lost and we got flowers before the game. I am going to miss the [varsity girls soccer] team so much because I have played for so long and been together forever” said Madi Grogan.

Shelby Shackleford said “the night was bittersweet because all of the girls [on the volleyball team] were so nice to us, but at the same time I had to realize that this was going to be my last high school game. Since I have played for 13 years, I am going to try to play at EVCC for two years and hopefully move on to a four year college after that.” Shelby said this was a great experience over all because all the teams got every senior presents, and they got to stand with their parents.

Football player Austin Wells said “it was, of course, sad because I knew that this was my last year of high school football, but hopefully I can move on to college football. The boys did not celebrate their senior night as much as girls do. The other teams did not get the players any presents and all they did was stand out on the field with their parents, said Austin.”

Tennis varsity player Lucas Bynum said that this night was not a sad night for him. “All we got was some flowers but it honestly was not very sad for me”. The one thing he did say he was going to miss though was his teammates.

Jose Garcia said that the cross country team had a banquet for and celebrated the seniors. “Even though I only ran for two years I am going to miss it a lot.”
