“One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to go through is my dad’s dying. I was eight when it happened, so I’m old enough to remember but too young to really handle it. One of my favorite memories of him is actually from the morning of the day he died. I remember it so clearly. We went fishing together in the pond by our house. It was one of the best mornings we had ever had together. I’m thankful to live in the community that I do. Everybody really came together to support our family. Everybody knows everybody in Darrington, so my family never felt lonely because people were always around  making us feel better.”
