Members of the freshman football team celebrate after a touchdown.

On Wednesday, September 16th, the Eagles freshman football team battled the Snohomish Panthers in a game in which Arlington would eventually prevail, with a final score of 56-6.

At the beginning of the game, the Eagles immediately took a dominating lead over the Panthers. The Eagle defense was tough and nearly made the game a shutout victory.

Although they fought hard, the Snohomish Panthers were unable to beat Arlington’s uptempo offense and dominating defense. Not only did the freshman team succeed in their game against the Panthers, they helped put Arlington High’s entire football program on the map.

Arlington’s varsity and junior varsity teams had both succeeded against Snohomish prior to the freshman game (varsity winning 45-35, and JV winning 27-0) . As such, the freshman team unknowingly completely a triangle victory.

AHS defeated five schools in their entirety last year (2014-2015). With this one game, the Arlington freshman not only succeeded in their season, but also in returning newfound pride to our school.
