Nico Stai is a singer/songwriter from the Los Angeles Siver Lake/Echo Park indie rock music scene.

He debuted with the release of The Viva Dead EP  in 2004, and hasn’t seem to have published any album or score of tracks since 2009. Furthermore, all of his personal social networking and fan websites are dead, showing no recent activity.

For some tracks of his, like “You Came Around” and “Dead Pony”, Stai includes a full band with electric guitars. However, there is a bona fide sincerity–a naked, pure melancholy form of art–when he is singing alone with his acoustic guitar.

I believe some mainstream artists would envy Stai and his position in music, because he has a total artistic freedom that isn’t corrupted by record companies these days.
