Unifying electric and acoustic instruments in a tasteful way, Grizzly Bear has been described as psychedelic indie music; at some moments they are soft and mellow with vocal harmonies and earthy wind instruments, then they are loud and explosive with bombastic drums and riveting horns.

Formed in 2002 out of Brooklyn, New York, the band consists of Edward Droste on vocals, Daniel Rossen on guitar, Chris Taylor on bass, and Christopher Bear on drums. Yet, Grizzly Bear have proven their talent by including over a dozen electric and acoustic instruments. Piano focused songs like “Foreground” and “Two Weeks” have been featured in several film soundtracks and commercials.

Rolling Stone wrote about their first album Horn of Plenty (2004), saying that “the pure atmospheric power of the songs is more than enough to hypnotize”. A perfect example of this critique is their song Alligator” from Horn of Plenty.
