High-Fiving and Diving, Arlington Volleyball Wins 3-0
One thing that sets volleyball apart is their intense, intentional kinship with each other. An example of this is every game a player brings dinner for the team. Also, after every play they huddle together for some quick encouraging words and high-five each other before the match starts again. Closeness is key to a strong volleyball team as members are continually communicating. Communication is what helped Arlington win 3-0 on Monday, October 27.
The first game was close as the teams got warmed up, but Arlington won 25 to 21. There was some seat gripping saves by the fearless players who dove for the ball and launched it back into the air at the last moment.
The second game was won 25-17 and the third game was won 25-21. Senior Haley Gonzales and junior Alyssa Crain had some great digs, sophomore Ally Peterson shined as a setter, and seniors Audrey Frolich and Jessie Landis had some stellar kills; all the players worked together wonderfully to take the victory.
Volleyball teaches life lessons; no matter how many times you fall down, or dive for the ball, you get back up, and come together with your community. This is a good lesson to learn and is currently being put into action, so come out and support Arlington and Marysville-Pilchuck volleyball as they play their last game before districts, this Wednesday, October 28th, at 7:00 PM.
