Moving Up . . .

On June 14, Arlington High School had the last assembly of the year, our Moving Up Assembly. Along with saying goodbye to seniors, there was also a moving up event where the current freshman, sophomore, and junior students moved into their designated spot for the next school year. Supportive students and staff contributed to make the event special with a combination of skits, music, and stories. The moving up assembly was the first AHS has had in person with the whole student body there since June 2019,  and it  was important to everyone attending that the seniors felt the support and excitement through the crowd. At the conclusion of the assembly, seniors walked through the school doors for the last time, saying their goodbyes to their past teachers and classmates.

Not only was this a goodbye assembly for our seniors, but also a farewell to staff that will not be returning in the fall: Mr. Moberly, Madame Taylor, Mr. Smoots, Ms. Runyan, Ms. Anderson (English teacher) who all taught and contributed to this school. Mr. Fish and Mr. Boatman were also celebrated for their time as administrators and Ms.Cave and Ms. Cooper for their time in the office at AHS. As sad as it was, it was important to everyone that these teachers felt appreciated as Mr. Ballew and Mr. Liles mentioned them in songs.
