When you think of fall what do you think of? The changing of leaves, sweater weather, maybe even football? Well if you clicked on this story then I’m guessing the first thing that comes to your mind, as well as many others, is the euphoric scent of pumpkin spice.

As you probably already know, Starbucks released their Pumpkin Spice Latte on August 24. With its memorable hints of pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg feeling like a warm hug in your mouth, you can only get a feeling like this in the season of fall.

Your favorite fall drink actually traces all the way back to 2003, when Starbucks first released the famous Pumpkin Spice Latte. The idea was brought up by Peter Dukes, who helped create the eggnog latte as well, and was the espresso director at the time. To start, Peter and his coworkers thought of around 100 fall related drink ideas, then did a couple of polls which narrowed it down to 10 possible drink options, one of which was chocolate and carmel and another one being cinnamon.

In an interview with CBS News Peter said, “We had about 500 customers look at these ten concepts. When we got back the results, chocolate, and caramel, ‘Oh, yeah, I’ll buy that, for sure.’ Cinnamon, solid, pretty well. This is something that people don’t know or are not aware of. Pumpkin Spice Latte never had a chance that it was going to get to prototype.” So in other words, the Pumpkin Spice Latte we all know and love, almost never even existed!

If you have TikTok then you may have heard about the “leaked” Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe that’s been going around. There’s been a bunch of people trying it, some of which say it tastes just like the real thing, and others saying not so much. If you would like to get a hold of this recipe and try it for yourself then I found this online one that is very similar to the one on TikTok! https://topsecretrecipes.com/starbucks-pumpkin-spice-latte.html

Pumpkin Spice is something that has been around for years, but there’s always new products coming out with this distinct flavor profile. For instance, the ramen brand “Cup of Noodle” just released pumpkin spice flavored ramen! They describe the flavor as “the perfect blend of sweet, savory, and spiced.” If that in itself isn’t crazy, they also suggest topping it with whipped cream to get the full experience; since when do you put whipped cream on ramen? Want to try this crazy combination, then make sure to drive down to your nearest Walmart because they released this October!

If you aren’t completely shocked by Pumpkin Spice Ramen then maybe you’d like to try Hood’s new pumpkin spice eggnog. Can’t choose between Christmas or Halloween, then get the best of both worlds with this insane drink combination. If you would like to try this bizarre concoction then you can purchase it through InstaCart, just make sure you tell us how it is because who knows it might be the next big hit!

Fall is in full swing so make sure you savor every bit of it before it’s gone. Whether it’s going to the pumpkin patch, a haunted house, or even something as simple as grabbing a Pumpkin Spice Latte or carving a pumpkin, you don’t want to miss out on all the fun seasonal activities fall has to offer!
