Let Our Athletes Shine
Fall sporting events are underway! This includes: football, cross country, girls soccer, volleyball, cheer, and boys tennis. All athletic directors from Wesco have decided their own schedules for high school sports during the 2020-21 school year. The three-season Wesco sporting events officially started their first competitions on March 1.
Practices however started for our first season athletes on February 22 and the season will be ending on April 3. The majority of fall sporting events are outdoors, which was a huge factor in Wesco’s decision to start with the traditional fall events.
The next season following fall sports will be all spring sporting events. This includes: baseball, softball, boys soccer, golf, girls tennis, and track and field. Practices will start March 29 and the season will end for these athletes on May 8.
Closing out the 2020-21 school year we have all winter sports. Winter sporting events will be: boys basketball, girls basketball, and wrestling. Practice starts for our winter athletes on May 3 and the season will wrap up on June 12.
Athletes are beyond excited to even be given the chance to play this year! A bit of normal is back for these athletes.
“As a freshman, not only has it been extremely important to have the opportunity to play, make a good impression, and get onto a team; it’s also been so important to be able to create the bonds I have with these amazing irreplaceable girls,” said freshman Zella Jones.
Due to capacity restrictions, families are watching from home! The Eagle News Media has been Live Streaming all home sporting events at AHS. Subscribe to our YouTube channel to view (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCekwwwIGyR_HYs4f3Rhs-PA ) or come back here https://theahseagle.com/ for the link.
