Arlington Eagles Soccer Dominate Meadowdale Mavericks
Spirits were high Tuesday night, as the girl’s soccer team started their game against the Meadowdale Mavericks. Both teams played a great game with coordinated offenses and aggressive defenses. Arlington Eagles pushing a little harder with #18, Olivia Larson, a junior at Arlington High breaking the no score run with a goal. They closed the half with a score of 1-0. Beginning the second half, the Eagles took the field refreshed with an energetic and forceful offense. Coach, Nathan Davis, provided words of encouragement from the sideline and with a little constructive criticism like “protect the ball” or “spread out”. During the second half, the team definitely meshed and focused on their plays. Ten minutes into the second half, Larson scored another goal and shortly after #4 Bre Morren (’15) scored another, pushing the Eagles to a soaring 3-0 lead. The Mavericks’ determined offense was no match for the Eagles solid defense. Goalie, #0 Kat Sanchez (’16) protected the Eagles goal with many admirable saves with active communication from her teammates. With 20 minutes left on the clock, they continued to fight hard against the Mavericks. Through teamwork and dedication, the Eagles prevailed at the end of the night, walking away with a victory of 3-0 topping off Arlington High School’s homecoming week.
