Riding for Fun

Some were born to throw a ball, others to dance. Jacob Olson, a sophomore, was born on a dirtbike. He was born right here in good ol’ Arlington. He has played baseball from a young age and plans on continuing in this sport through high school but Olson’s passion has always been dirtbiking.
Olson’s dad as a teenager was one of the best bikers in Washington state for two years. So, to continue this legacy, his dad bought him his first bike at the age of 4. He continues to ride for recreation and says he won’t ever be interested in competing. But, he certainly isn’t considering stopping anytime soon. In response to whether he might ever stop he exclaimed, “Never! I’ll be doing it when I’m in a walker. That’s how I’ll die.”
Riding around his property he’s had a ton of time to practice and perfect many tricks. But one of his favorite memories what the first time that he cleared a double. “I just felt so accomplished after that. At the time, I felt like I was superman,” Olson explains. Then there is the other side of the spectrum. This summer he had a pretty bad accident and bent his handlebars, his first real accident. Through it all, Olson says his mother really inspired him and influenced him through the years, he says, “She is my favorite person ever. She is the strongest person I know…mentally.”
