Senior skip day happened on Monday, May 12th, where 393 seniors skipped and went to Altitude and did other things. How was it? Did they do anything besides altitude? How did teachers feel about senior skip day?
About 90% of the seniors were gone jumping at altitude an indoor jump park in marysville washington, building bonds and doing individual stuff after as well. With the majority of the seniors being gone some classes were completely empty. In fact, Mr Copenhaver had 0 seniors show up to his class on this year’s senior skip day.
“I’m fairly ambivalent about it. It’s been going on for 30 years, so some years, more students participate than others. This year, it was like everyone, so it’s a little more,” Brent Copenhaver said.
Having seniors skip on a raining day means the event has to happen inside, some seniors enjoyed the childhood memory location.
“One day we all just went in and hung out and just we went to altitude and kind of all, not bonded, but just like, hung out with each other and acting like kids,” Parker Birch (12) said.
Having a location for senior skip day can rub differently on different people, some seniors wish they waited for a nicer day.
“I’d say plan senior skip day on a better day when the weather’s better than what we had this year,” JR Bernardo (12) said.
Even if the wish of senior skip day not being inside, Bernardo had fun with his fellow seniors.
“Everyone’s pretty close. Everyone’s tight knit, and have a good relationship with one another, and it kind of shows if you look at one of the posts on Senior Skip instagram,” Bernardo said.
