Arlington, a small town filled with so many activities and fun for anyone and everyone to be a part of. In the summer time going to the river spots and going camping in backyards are extra popular activities when staying in the area.
Stevie Costello, a junior at Arlington high school said ¨Haller park is one of my favorite places to go in the summer in Arlington. My family has been going to the park since I was a kid. I used to love climbing with my sister on that round metal jungle gym thingy. Later in elementary school I remember having one or two barbecue parties with my soccer team.” Costello thinks it’s a place that is associated with being happy and she likes how every time she goes there someone is having a party at the picnic tables.
Going up to Arlington Heights, Junior Jacob Dobson said ¨I would have to say my favorite place or I guess the thing to do in the summertime is go up in the woods in the heights and ride my dirt bike. I usually go with my little brother lucas. We both have our own dirt bikes so it’s always really fun to go up there and hang out with him and ride.¨ Dobson is really excited for the nice weather to finally come to Arlington so him and his brother can start riding their dirt bikes in the heat, ¨I would say riding in warmer weather is more enjoyable to riding in the rain.¨
As downtown Arlington is a pretty popular place to hang out in the summertime, freshman Alyssa Calloway said ¨Downtown Arlington has a really nice atmosphere, and I think it’s nice to have a place where anyone can go and have a good time.¨ Calloway has been going to the same spot downtown for the past ten years now. Downtown isn’t a secret spot or anything according to Alyssa but she knows a couple places that not many people go to, and a plus is that it also has shade to cool down during the hot summer.
Summer time in Arlington has so many fun and enjoyable things to do in the summertime especially things to do when it’s extremely hot out because we know sometimes Washington weather can get super hot. According to Jacob Dobson, ¨Washington weather can be super bipolar and doesn’t make sense. It could be raining for a whole 24 hours then it would be sunny and 70 the next day. Sometimes it’s super confusing.¨
