Brooklyn Sierra Clasby, 17, passed away at the UW Medical Center on the morning of July 21, 2024.
Brooklyn is survived by her parents, Brandon and Jennica; her sister, Mackenzie (Jacob); her brother, Jaxon; her grandparents, Tom and Margaret Thornburg and Ligia Clasby; her aunts and uncles Justin (Yvonne) Thornburg, Zachariah (Marie) Clasby and Megan (Ethan) Freedman; her cousins, Trysten, Shelby, Monique, DJ, Amelia, Paul, and Oscar. She was preceded in death by her beloved great-grandparents on both her maternal and paternal sides of the family.
Brooklyn was born in Pueblo, Colorado on October 29, 2006. She was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension at the age of 3. In 2012 the family moved to Arlington, Washington to improve Brooklyn’s health by living at sea level. Despite these challenges, she defied expectations and inspired those around her with her tenacious spirit and bravery. As she prepared to enter her senior year at Arlington High School, Brooklyn was enrolled to attend Sno-Isle for cosmetology. Brooklyn lived each day to the fullest. She participated in multiple sports and activities, putting her best effort into everything she did. Brooklyn loved being a part of the wrestling community, serving as the manager of the boys’ wrestling team since the 6th grade. In March 2023, Brooklyn received a life-saving lung transplant. She aspired to travel the world, build a family, and pursue a career. She was called home early due to complications associated with the transplant, marking the end of her brave journey.
