It Could be Yours
The clubs that go on at Arlington High school, have some way of recognizing their club attenders. It could be an award that is received at the end of the year, or it could be something simple. If the club doesn’t have a way of recognizing or giving out awards, the club “owners” may take it into consideration in the near future.
The Japanese club, run by Anderson Sensei, has stated that “the club is fairly small, so we base it on what people are inspired to do and what they are interested in”. Even if the club is small, you can work with what the students want to learn. Sometimes if they bring in some type of contribution, “we will thank them for their contribution. We also applaud them on their accomplishments” stated Anderson Sensei. This club isn’t just about being awarded, according to Anderson Sensei “everyone helps someone who wants to learn something new, as in how to write their name or say something”. Having people willing to help others, is an accomplishment.
When it comes to recycle club, run by Mrs. Iverson, there isn’t really an awards that are given out. When asked if she did do awards, what awards she would give out, she stated that “I would have an award for creativity, Spontaneity, and the hardest work”. Even Mrs. Iverson is taking the award giving into consideration.
Now, Drama Club is a different story. Mr. Moberly says that he does give out awards, but at certain times and there are certain categories. “Truthfully, the very best awards come at the end of the year” stated Mr. Moberly. As always, they awards have always been given out at the senior picnic. Some of the awards given out include “oh my god, I forgot my lines, and greatest moment… things like that” said Mr. Mob. The Drama club awards “is the one I look forward to every year and these awards are to capture the moment” expressed Mr. Moberly.
Some clubs may have awards while others may not. But honestly, it might not be about an award. Awards make you feel accomplished in something you love to do. But you can also be awarded just by helping others. When you help other people, you get that feeling that you get when you make someone happy, and truthfully, that could be considered an award. So enjoy the clubs and take into consideration that helping others around you is truly an award.
