Can you think of your favorite moment this far into the school year? When AHS students were asked; this is what they had to say about their unique and favorite memory.

Julia Parra(‘20)

“I think my favorite moment was when we had Kevin Laue tell us his story. And how we all went on to the gym floor and gave Abby a big hug.”

Tim Long(‘19)

“My favorite moment was acting out a play in Mr.Bryson’s world history class about Aztecs.”

Michael Gross(‘19)

“My favorite part was getting to go to Arizona and San Francisco and getting a recruiter come up to me. He asked me if I’d like to be a recruiter(lacrosse) for GCU. At school my favorite moment was getting to see my friends on the first day of school and being excited for the year to start.”

Reese Talbot(‘20)

“I wouldn’t say I have one favorite moment because there has been a lot, but probably being apart of the ahs volleyball program and getting the opportunity to play with varsity and go to state.”

Julia Cameron(‘17)

“I think my favorite moment would have to be the day after the MLK assembly in wind ensemble. G, being G, decided to spend almost the entire class talking and debriefing from something so heavy. Sasha, I dare say, is one of the most beloved members of band, and having students react by walking out on her really struck a sour chord with is a whole. Band is a family, you know? When someone is struggling, we help them. Like when we go on trips and someone can’t afford part of it, we always figure it out. And when someone treats one of our family members like any less than the person they are, it’s a really big deal to us, and especially G, a man who genuinely keeps all of us in his heart as his children, because he doesn’t have any of his own. Idk, I mean, it’s kind of silly, but I really can’t think of a place that feels more accepting and loving than the AHS band room, and I’m so grateful for that.”

Kobe Gray(‘18)

“When we had a snow day one time. That was pretty cool. I didn’t have to go to school. It was lit. I stayed home and played video games, and watch movies.”

Annaliese Nichols(‘17)

“My favorite moment from this year so far was when I was playing in the band for a basketball game. And the game was really close, so the band was going crazy. We had a lot of fun cheering the boys!”

Picking one favorite scenario can be quite difficult. For some, almost impossible. But in the end, we have millions of moments to choose from. So maybe, in years down the road, you’ll look back and one of these high school moments will make your top 10.
