On October 21st, Arlington’s freshman football team was victorious in a highly touted matchup against the Marysville Pilchuck Tomahawks. The Eagles won their final home game of the regular season, 35-0.

Arlington got off to a quick start, taking a 7-0 lead. A energetic running game was shown throughout the second quarter, and with just five minutes left in the first half, the Eagles scored a touchdown. After a failed two-point conversion, Arlington was up 13-0.

Arlington’s defense also displayed apparent toughness. They were successful several times in stopping MP’s running game, including a big stop on 4th down with two minutes left in the first half.

The Eagles came out firing during the second half. Arlington’s offense continued to keep the pressure on MP, while the defense kept their offense at bay. Following another touchdown and, this time, a successful two-point conversion, the Eagles went up 27-0 late in the third quarter.

With just ten minutes left in the game, MP fumbled in Arlington territory. The Eagles quickly snatched up the ball, and, with the help of several efficient blocks, returned the ball for a touchdown. The score put an exclamation point on the Eagles’ win, allowing the Eagles to cruise to victory. Arlington was also able to impress the crowd.

“They can get a play done in a pinch,” said senior Jacob Dietz. “When they need it, they get it done.”

Looking ahead, the Eagles will play two more games during the course of the regular season: The first will be played this Thursday, October 29th at Everett; and the final game of the regular season, Wednesday, November 4th, will be a South crossover game.
